This original acrylic painting by Australian artist Jill Thomas is inspired by my time living in the Middle East and the unforgettable camping adventures I experienced there. The work explores the shifting nature of the desert—its silence, intensity, and ever-changing light. Warm, earthy hues evoke the heat of the day, while touches of blue suggest the coolness of night and the surprise of discovering water in an otherwise unforgiving landscape.
